The LA-78 is part of the Precision Home Defense family. It has an average velocity of 3281 FPS. It is optimized for over penetration mitigation. The LA-78 utilizes a Mechanically Adaptable Projectile (MAP) that is live adaptability capable.
Mechanically Adaptable Projectile (MAP- patent pending)
MAP™ projectiles can be mechanically adapted for different performance. For example, the Core Projectile Module (CPM-black component) used in the LA-78 is also used in Razor ammunition. By installing the Interchangeable Component (IC) it becomes the 118 grain two-stage projectile used in the Razor shell. The IC can be installed after the LA-78 is an assembled piece of ammunition. This means an inventory of LA-78 ammunition can be changed to an inventory of Razor ammunition. The LA-78 is also live adaptation capable.
Live Adaptation Capability (patent pending)
Live adaptation is when assembled ammunition is altered to address an actual mission need. When a user alters the ammunition for a live situation, planned or otherwise, that is live adaptation.
Progressive Adaptability (patent pending)
Projectiles with progressive adaptability can only have an IC added to the CPM. Once an IC is installed it is a final adaptation.
Always inspect ammunition to ensure there are no flaws. SlapShot Mechanically Adaptable Projectile (MAP) and PHD ammunition is designed for fully rifled shotguns. This ammunition will not perform as designed if used in a smooth bore. Do not fire SlapShot Precision Home Defense ammunition from any type of choked barrel.
